Segway Smart Motion technology consists of intelligent network sensors, mechanical assemblies and control systems that enable you to balance and move on two wheels. The instant you step on, five micro-machine gyroscopes and two accelerometers sense the changing terrain and your body position at 100 times per seconds faster than your brain can think. The Segway is designed to go anywhere you go and give you a ride like nothing you have ever experienced. With no need for gas, it can glide on its internal batteries for up to 24 miles without a charge. Just rent a Segway for an hour and you too will experience the Segway Smile. You have to try it to believe it!

Bicycles

The Trek Cruiser Classic with its super comfortable seat will let you pedal around the Island in style, and yes it has only one speed, which is as fast as you can pedal. We offer a variety of these classics to choose from, and yes before you ask, we have tandems too. Our bicycles are meant for a leisurely ride that will take you around a beautiful and historic island at a slow pace that is intended to allow for maximum enjoyment!

Kayaks

We have a variety of kayaks that will accommodate the first-timer who just wants to get their feet wet in this sport, and, we can also put a smile on the face of the more serious kayaker who has more demanding requirements. We will launch you into the water right out back off our floating dock and you will have miles of creeks to explore that will leave you breathless, out of film and with a desire to come back again and again. You could kayak a different creek every day for a week and still not explore them all!

eCars

This zero-emission neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) offers a clean, quiet, and exciting way to tour Solomons Island.  Not only will you turn heads as you buzz around at speeds up to 25 mph, but you will do it in style and comfort. You can carry 4 passengers in our electric car and enjoy accessories like: doors and windows, comfortable seats, wipers, headlights, rear cargo storage, and even has a heater for those chilly days.

2008 Rental Rates

Conditions that apply to equipment rentals

Segways:

• Must be 16 years of age to rent a Segway (14 or older if accompanied by adult)
• Major credit card required and $100 will be charged as a deposit
• Training mandatory for first time riders (waived for repeat rentals)
• Helmet included in rental price and must be worn while riding
• Lock included in price and must be utilized if leaving equipment unattended
• Security device must be removed and kept with you if leaving equipment unattended
• Security alarm system must be enabled if leaving equipment unattended
• Lost security devices will be charged to you
• Equipment stolen, and found not to be locked or secured, will be charged to you
• Damages to equipment during rental will result in a charge for repair

Bikes:

• Must be 16 years of age to rent a Bike (waived if accompanied by adult)
• Major credit card required
• Helmet included in rental price and must be worn while riding
• Lock included in price and must be utilized if leaving equipment unattended
• Equipment stolen, and found not to be locked or secured, will be charged to you
• Damages to equipment during rental will result in a charge for repair

Kayaks:

• Must be 16 years of age to rent a Kayak (waived if accompanied by adult)
• Major credit card required
• Paddle and Life vest included in rental price and vest must be worn while kayaking
• Damages to equipment during rental will result in a charge for repair

eCars:

• Must be 21 years of age to rent an eCar
• Valid US drivers license and current auto insurance required
• Major credit card required with $100 mandatory deposit for rental
• eCar can only be driven on roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less
• Must be familiar with, and obey, all Maryland traffic laws
• Seat belts must be worn by all passengers (4 passengers maximum per car)
• Lost vehicle keys will result in a replacement charge
• Equipment stolen, and found not to be locked or secured, will be charged to you
• Damages to equipment during rental will result in a charge for repair
